Haiti - Sports : A disappointing participation at the XXII Central American Games

Sunday, the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games ended in Veracruz, Mexico. Too much waiting, too much hope, our Haitian athletes, for lack of a good quality of preparation, had, unless exceptions, take the last or second last place when they arrived to qualify...

Nevertheless Haiti returns with 3 bronze medals ranking in the table of the number of medals 20th out of 26 [25th out of 26 in the ranking by gold]. Linouse Desravine thanks to her talent won a bronze medal in Judo (cat. 52kg). In weightlifting, Luciano Edouar Joseph (helped and trained by the Dominican Republic) in clean and jerk (Cat. 56 kg) has obtained the bronze medal and in snatching a second bronze medal https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12555-haiti-sports-already-3-medals-for-haiti-at-the-xxii-central-american-and-caribbean-games.html

It is the host country (Mexico), who received the highest number of medals with 113 gold, 105 silver and 110 bronze medals for a total of 328 medals, followed by Cuba with 250 medals, including 121 of gold, 65 silver and 64 bronze for a total of 250.

A total of 425 gold medals, 425 silver and 539 bronze medals were distributed.

Recall that, in addition to the technical staff, the Haitian delegation was composed of 10 athletes in athletics, 6 in boxing, 2 in cycling, 43 in football, three in judo and 2 in weightlifting for a total of 66 athletes, 42 men and 24 women.

Note that the delegation of the Dominican Republic composed of 450 people (athletes and technical staff) finished 5th overall (by number of gold medals) with 18 gold, 34 silver and 23 bronze.
