Saturday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries back home ending its tour in Europe dedicated to the promotion of investment and the highlighting of Haiti as a destination.

Her tour began in London where took place the 35th edition of the "World Travel Market" from 3 to 6 November. This global travel market gathers each year businessmen and businesswomen of the travel industry, a unique opportunity for the whole global travel trade to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business. Note that the Ministry of Tourism is not at its first contact with the UK. A representative was placed there at the service of the promotion of the destination. Initiative that has already attracted 7 tour operators with 20 packages listed for 2015.

On the sidelines of the event, the Minister Villedrouin, met with officials of the World Tourism Organization (WTO), including the Secretary General Taleb Rifai and held discussions with Hugh Riley of the Caribbean Organization duTourisme (CTO) among others, on the management of statistics on visitor arrivals in Haiti. The Minister also held important meetings with Cuban and Jamaican Ministers of Tourism.

Moreover, in Ireland, Ms. Villedrouin held discussions with Leslie Buckley, Co-founder and Vice President of the Digicel before presenting some tourist investment opportunities in Haiti to more than 30 guests, including investors and Tour-operators European in the presence of representatives of the specialized press.

Recall that since the beginning of 2014, the Ministry spares no efforts, putting the spotlight on Haiti on nearly a dozen fairs and international tourism fairs. Press trips were made in Haiti, including with British journalists recently. The Telegraph newspaper has been awarded by the CTO, for its article on the Haitian tourism, considered as one of the best ever written about the Caribbean.
