Haiti - Social : Celebration of the World Day of prisoners in Petit-Goâve

Thursday, Dr. Fred Jasmin, Director of the Action Center for Health (CASA) celebrated at the police station of Petit-Goâve the World Day of prisoners around the theme "Anyone can go to jail".

The ceremony was attended by a delegation of students of college Harry Breakman, many personalities including : Me Patrice cadet, Me kebreau Zamor of the Bar Association of the Bar of Petit-Goâve, Pastor Garnel joseph, the priest Birbeck Plaisival and some members of the Red Cross of Petit-Goâve .

Me kebreau Zamor began the ceremony by explaining the reasons for the celebration of the World Day of prisoners and sent comforting about to detainees"I know that you are suffering because you are deprived of your freedom, you live away from your family, but know that our hearts go out to your [...] we are here to show our solidarity."

Pastor Joseph Garnel and the priest Birbeck Plaisival have successively prayed for the prisoners and urged to change their behavior and to choose what is good for themselves and for society, "God bless the prisoners" repeated the two men of the Church.

Dr. Fred Jasmin distributed to prisoners a hot meal, soft drinks, sweets, miscellaneous items and money. These products were generously provided by the students, churches, citizens, civil society, businessmen and lawyers.

The 115 prisoners have greatly appreciated this gesture of solidarity and sympathy and thanked CASA, Me Kébreau Zamor and religious authorities.
