Haiti - Insecurity : Funeral of Manouchka Louis Jean Brice
Saturday, September 18, held the funeral of Jean Louis Manouchka Brice [wife of the departmental director of Western National Police] murdered in his car by unknown on Friday, September 8 at a few hundred meters from his home.

Paul Denis, Minister of Justice, Desrosiers Jean-Pierre, Minister of Education, Mario Andresol Director General of National Police, and other members of the High Command, agents of several units of the Haitian National police force (PNH) and Minustah and other political figures were present at the ceremony.

Father Arthur Clergé officiating, has claimed justice and called at the end of violence where "evil seems to prevail over the good" recalling that the disappeared "was a devout Catholic, very sensitive to the suffering of others"

Frantz Thermilus, the head of the judicial police, who announced last Wednesday, following the assassination, the strengthening of the Office of Criminal Affairs (Bureau des Affaires Criminelles BAC) [which deals with murder], had told reporters "The bandits should know that some people should not be their target to fall under their bullets" which provoked a volley of questions from journalists who saw in his remarks a two-tiered justice. Frantz Thermilus had to justify, it has explained that its remarks were not discriminatory "but when the police officers charged with ensuring the safety of citizens are attacked, they feel even more threatened". He said no suspect had been arrested.

At the funeral he precised that investigators work with professionalism and they do everything to catch the murderers, refusing to comment on possible suspects, not wanting to interfere with the course of the investigation.
