Haiti - Culture : 8th edition of the traditional fair Georges Liautaud
The artistic village of Noailles (Croix-des-Bouquets) hosts until Sunday, October 5th, the 8th edition of the traditional craft fair Georges Liautaud (1899-1991). Organized by the Association of Artists and Artisans of Croix-des-Bouquets (ADAAC), this fair takes place at the Atelier Serge Jolimeau, a leading member of the Iron cut of village. According to Jean Eddy Remy, President of the ADAAC, 500 artisans will exhibit their products this year.
Other innovation this year, the responsible of the ADAAC initiated the "Prix Jose Delpé" (1976-2014), o honor the memory of this fantastic and clever craftsman, died Friday, September 12 2014. Thanks to this award, 20 artisans will benefit annually from training in the field, to enable them to improve.
