Haiti - Justice : New Court of First Instance of Anse-à-Veau

Wednesday, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), represented by its Director General Me Jean Roudy Aly, proceeded at the inauguration of the new premises of the Court of First Instance (TPI) of Anse-à-Veau. A brand new building offering judges more attractive working environment with more spacious courtrooms, was delivered to the Dean Jean Julien André and to the Government Commissioner Me Michelet Descorbeth, the presence of Mrs. Guirlène Presnard, President of the Communal Council of Anse-à-Veau.

In his speech, Mr Aly recalled that these rehabilitation works and of expansion fall within the scope of a large government project for the construction of fifty buildings of Justice each year. The Director General of MJSP hoped that these premises mark the beginning of a new mode of operation of the judiciary in the Anse-à-Veau jurisdiction.

For his part, the Dean of TPI congratulated the Ministry for this initiative and reiterated its determination to ensure the proper administration of the court and help preserve the good image of the judiciary in its jurisdiction.
