Haiti - Justice : A special unit responsible for monitor Aristide

Commissioner Frantz Lerebours, spokesman of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) reported that 14 officers, members of a special unit were assigned to monitor the former President Aristide, adding that these new agents have been assigned, because they were better equipped and trained to perform this type of surveillance, that agents previously assigned to this task. Adding that there were no immediate plans to execute the arrest warrant issued by Judge Lamarre Bélizaire.

Approximately 200 Aristide supporters gathered outside the gates of the residence of Aristide to prevent police intervention, playing drums and singing songs of support for Aristide. Several support movements have also been reported in other parts of the city. No incidents have been reported.
