Tuesday, September 16, at approximately 10:00 am, the situation was tense again in Petit Goâve and the local members of the opposition took to the streets to demand again, the departure of Mayor Sandra Jules they accuse of embezzlement of public funds.

Just arrived, the Minister Delva met at City Hall, with Mayor Sandra Jules. Informed of the presence of the Minister, protesters, white-hot, rushed to City Hall chanting about hostile to local authorities and the President of the Republic, throwing stones, breaking windows of the official car of Minister...

Following his meeting with the Mayor and despite this incident, Réginald Delva then went to the hotel Impératrice, to meet with opposition leaders to know exactly their demands. Leaders who do not respond to this appointment, previously planned by Déus Jean Francois, State Secretary for Political Affairs.

According to reports, the opposition leaders would not have shown for security reasons, fearing arrest after their supporters had broken windows and damaged the car of the Minister...

By late afternoon, the agents of the Departmental Unit for Maintenance of Order (UDMO) have intervened in several parts of the city to restore order and cleared the National Road #2 where barricades of burning tires were erected. Stones were thrown at the security forces, who responded by firing shots into the air. A Taxi driver-motorcycle denounced the brutality of agents UDMO in their intervention.

After this hot new day, opposition members intend to continue their protest until satisfaction of their demands.
