The Ministers of Health of Haiti and the Dominican Republic respectively Dr. Florence Duperval Guillaume and Dr. Freddy Hidalgo Núñez, in the presence of representatives of the European Union and Deputy Ministers of Health of both countries will meet Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Dominican Chancellery.

According to a source from the Dominican Ministry of Health, at the meeting, the ministers will approve the construction of three hospitals on the border of Haiti, specifically near Pedernales, Elías Piña and Montecristi. The construction of these hospitals aim to allow Haitian patients to receive care without having to come to the Dominican Republic to enjoy the services and specialized health staff.

The two Ministers will also address issues relating to the epidemiological surveillance and preventive measures to avoid the island is hit by severe hemorrhagic fever caused by the Ebola virus.
