Haiti - Weather : The Government invites the population to be vigilant

The communications office of the Primature inform the public in general that the Tropical Depression #4 turned into Tropical Storm Cristobal.

Although it does not represent a direct threat to Haiti, however, the Government encourages the population in general and residents of coastal areas in particular to remain vigilant because the storm may cause thunderstorms, and some gales are possible on some parts of the country on Sunday and Monday.

The National Meteorological Center (CNM) of Haiti asking the population of areas at risk strictly to scrupulously implement the safety instructions in case of floods, landslides or mudslides, severe thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind.

"Cristobal does not represent a direct threat to Haiti except as extra moisture and injections of some convective clusters that can cause some thundershowers at times," indicates the CNM, adding "Of thundershowers and some gusts of wind are possible in some parts of the country this afternoon and tonight."
