Thursday, 11 days after the escape of 329 prisoners from the prison of Croix-des-Bouquets, the Commissioners Frantz Lerebours, spokesman of the National Police of Haiti announced that to date 42 escapees (12.7%) were captured and 3 weapons stolen at Penitentiary recovered on the 9 issing weapons (three 12-bore shotgun and 9 handguns).

According to preliminary investigation, the conspiracy theory with the help of guards is more and more confirmed, thesis mentioned by President Martelly, while in the wake of this spectacular escape, Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice, said for his part that it was a mutiny.

So far, as part of this investigation, 43 people were questioned by the General Inspectorate of the National Police of Haiti, 18 of them were placed in isolation.

Furthermore, the Spokesman indicated that a partial list of 237 escapees will be communicated shortly to all police stations in the country. Further 15,000 cards were printed with the crimes committed by these escapees will be put into circulation throughout the territory.
