Haiti - Culture : A choir of Jérémie at Canadian National Exhibition

This weekend, in visit to Jérémie, Marie Carmelle Rose Anne Auguste, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, in charge of Human Rights and Extreme Poverty Reduction, welcomed the participation of the Youth Choir of the Parish "La Sainte Famille de Bordes" (Holy Family of Bordes) (Jérémie), at Canadian National Exhibition to be held from August 15 to 23, 2014.

Tuesday, twenty singers, accompanied by a delegation of musicians, instructors and of Archbishop Verrier, will fly to Toronto to represent Haiti at the largest fair in Canada, which receives an average of 1.5 million visitors.

As part of the shows and festivities of the Canadian National Exhibition, the choristers of Jérémie, agend 12-25, will give two shows a day, to display our culture. The Bishop Emeritus of Les Cayes, Mgr Alix Verrier who directed them for 5 years, does not hide his joy to see them participate in an event of this magnitude.

Jean Achera, the President of the choir, told the Minister Augustus that "this is a big dream tha tcome true."
