Tuesday during a short official visit to the Bahamas, the President Michel Martelly, has signed several agreements with the Government of the Bahamas.

"I think this visit is very important because it will make more significant the relationship between the The Bahamas and Haiti [...] With these three documents that we are going to sign, we are going to see the relationship between Haiti and The Bahamas placed on another level, because now we can deal directly in a very official manner with those all issues that we have together," told the press, Ambassador of Haiti to the Bahamas, Antonio Rodriguez.

The agreements include: an agreement on technical and scientific cooperation on the capacity of port institutions; an agreement of commercial and technical cooperation in the field of quality control of agricultural products and export fisheries https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11643-haiti-economy-towards-the-commercialization-of-haitian-agricultural-products-in-bahamas.html and an agreement on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments.

During his visit, the President Martelly met with the Political leaders of Bahamas Hubert A. Minnis and Mr. Hubert A. Chipman and had a front meeting with Governor General Marguerite Pindling, before returning to Haiti the same day.
