Kamla Persad-Bissessar said she was pleased that Haiti sourcing its energy products from Trinidad and Tobago rather than from outside of the region. She said NP, Petrotrin, NE brands provide jobs for many people here in Trinidad and Tobago. By selling these products to you, you will help us to continue to generate employment...At the same time with our products coming into your country duty free, it means that your citizens would benefit from the (lower) cost of the products."

"This Memorandum of Understanding provides the development of a bilateral cooperation in the field of energy and intends to establish a commercial partnership between the two countries :

1) The construction and management of a modern Port in Miragoâne in the Nippes Department;

2) The construction of a manufacturing plant of propane tanks (LPG);

3) The supply of petroleum products from Trinidad and Tobago;

4) The establishment of 9 gas stations of the brand Trinidadian 'National Petroleum' (NP) in Haiti in the next 6 to 9 months;

5) Exploration and Petroleum Research in Haiti."
