Haiti - Culture : Boukman Eksperyans at the 6th Edition of FKZO festival in Toronto

The legendary Haitian group, Boukman Eksperyans, foun4 at Harbourded 36 years ago and the dynamic Vietnamese zouk artist, Dinh N'guyen, will perform in Toronto this summer during the 6th annual Festival Kompa Zouk taking place from July 24 to August 4, 2014 at Harbourtfront Centre.

Ranked among the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario in 2013, FKZO returns this year, to bring the sounds of Kompa and Zouk, rhythms without borders. This year's festival will once again bring a line up of international and local performers such as "Fonksyon" creators of a new Kompa sound in Toronto, "Mapou" a vibrant group of artists formed in Montreal whose success has spread to Ontaro and beyond, "Exile One", the legendary music group founded in Dominica in the 1970s by Gordon Henderson, J-Perry, whose song "Dekolé" has become an international sensation and Djakout #1, winners of carnival prizes throughout the Caribbean, in addition to a number of talented local performers, including Senegalese born percussionist, Tamsir Seck.

Beyond the stage, the Festival will feature a number of other activities including : An art exhibition curated by Emeraude Michel ; A book signing for Mimerose Beaubrun's new book "Nan Domi" and A workshop to support new artists entering Ontario's arts scene
