Haiti - Health : Construction of a hospital for 15 million dollars
A U.S. humanitarian group and Haitian health officials have announced plans to build a teaching hospital, in the north of the capital for $15 million.
The American organization "Partners in Health", based in Boston has declared its intention to build this project in the city of Mirebalais. This hospital is intended to reduce the charge of the General Hospital of Port-au-Prince, which is overloaded and underfunded.
Partners in Health, said Friday, Sept. 10 that this teaching hospital will have a capacity of 320 beds, will accommodate 450 to 550 patients by day and have six operating rooms and digital X-ray equipment. This hospital which is environmentally friendly, will be powered partly by solar energy.
