Haiti - Politic : Special Plan for Los Palmas and Jacob

Following his visit last Monday in Los Palmas and Jacob where was launched the national total sanitation campaign, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11595-haiti-politic-towards-water-and-sanitation-services-for-over-3-million-haitians.html Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, announced Wednesday at the 36th council of government, the decision to establish a special emergency plan for Los Palmas and Jacob (Central Department).

In the presence of local authorities and members of civil society organizations of these two communities, the Prime Minister announced a set of commitments under this plan. Of the number of these commitments include: the construction of a police sub station at Los Palmas, the drinking water infrastructure; the installation of solar streetlights and a computer lab in each of these localities. In addition, the Head of Government spent instructions to ean Marie Guillaume, Director General of the National Council of Telecommunications (CONATEL), to ensure mobile coverage of these areas by operators of the place.

This Special Plan, which will be coordinated by Thomas Jacques, Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development also includes other socio-economic axes, such as access to credit for Micro-Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the distribution of agricultural inputs and tools to farmers associations.
