Haiti - Elections : Publication of the decree appointing the 2 new members of CEP

The General Secretariat of the Presidency informs the general public that, by order dated July 14, 2014, the President of the Republic appointed, upon request of the Legislature and of Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), the citizen Max Mathurin and Yolette Mingual https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11567-haiti-elections-the-cspj-finally-designated-its-representative.html , members of the Provisional Electoral Council to replace respectively Marie Clunie Dumay Miracles and Carole Floréal Duclervil.

"This decision follows the El Rancho agreement and goes beyond the requirements of the agreement which had provided in the negotiations, a period not exceeding 10 working days to meet all the conditions who are provided for the implementation of legislative and local elections," indicates the presidency.

Through this publication, the General Secretariat of the Presidency wishes to recall that the "El Rancho agreement was signed for almost 4 months. Until that date, the amendments provided to the electoral law was never passed by the Senate of the Republic."

The Executive reminded to the intention of Senators that he fully fulfilled all its obligations, the CSPJ as well "It is now up to the senators to fully play their part by voting these amendments as they are incurred and that, for the triumph of democracy."
