 Haiti - Security: 96 arrests in Petion-ville

On Thursday, the Superior Council of the National Police, headed by the Prime Minister Lamothe met to take stock of the operations conducted by the police in Petion-ville, within the framework of Security plan of the metropolitan area started since 3 weeks (Phase I).

During this period, 96 individuals, including four prison escapees including 2 life sentence were arrested, three firearms seized and 148 motorcycles retained for various reasons.

The Phase II of Security Plan, consists to strengthen security measures in the city of Port-au-Prince, is ongoing and these these same provisions will shortly extend to all communes in the metropolitan area.
