This Tuesday to the Primature, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, will receive Fernando Frutuoso de Melo, Director General of Cooperation of the European Union and Ms. Jolita Butkeviciene, Director for Latin America. This visit will be the opportunity to launch a new program of direct budgetary support for the next two years, amounting to ± 6.9 billion gourdes (+100 million euros).

Following this visit, Haiti and the European Union will sign the Convention of disbursement of the first tranche, which represents nearly a third of overall support, or ± 2.1 billion gourdes (34 million euros). This sum will support the reform of public finances, as well as public administration and Education.
