Tuesday, the Ambassador of France in Haiti, Patrick Nicoloso, presented to the Directors General of Customs, Immigration and emigration and the National Police of Haiti (PNH) some equipment estimated at 200,000 Euros.

This delivery of equipment end the project "Frontier" that leads France in Haiti since September 2012. This project of 900,000 Euros has been set up at the request of the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, which wanted that Haiti can benefit from the French expertise in integrated border management.

The objective of this project is to promote a better coordination between the three Haitian authorities responsible for border surveillance: the Customs, the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration, and the PNH.

In addition, this project has provided support to the Haitian government for the establishment of a mechanism for customs training. 18 training courses were organized for about 300 people (customs, police officers) on various topics including: customs supervision, fight against drug trafficking, the fight against human trafficking including children, the fight against document fraud. This represents more than 23 weeks of training in total.
