Haiti - Diplomacy : Flying visit of Prime Minister Lamothe in Venezuela

In a note, Communication Office of the Prime Minister informs that the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, left the country on Tuesday for a 24-hour visit to Venezuela, "where he will meet with the President of the Bolivarian Republic Nicolas Maduro, Vice President Jorje Arreaza and Foreign Minister Elias Jaua around the strengthening of relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two countries."

It is unlikely that the reasons given by the communications office of the Prime Minister justify alone, this flying visitand this high level meeting. Note that this trip curiously coincides with the order of the President Martelly, Tuesday, convening the population to elections https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11344-haiti-flash-the-government-convened-the-population-in-elections.html and no doubt it will question of this decision, of elections and the political situation in Haiti, in order to reassure this important partner what Venezuela is for Haiti.

The Prime Minister will return to the country this Wednesday, June 11 to chair to the Primature, from 5:30 pm his 33rd Council of Government.
