The truck flipped and rolled over several times. Overloading of the truck, the road conditions and perhaps faulty brakes may have contributed to this terrible accident after the first report. The tragedy has been confirmed by Espinal, the commander of the Army in Dajabon.

At least seven Haitians died in the accident where there are more than 40 injured, some in serious condition. 11 wounded were transported to hospital Ramón Matías Mella, in Dajabon, the Director, Dr. Victor Franco Moya, said that nine injured were treated and were quickly returned to Haiti and two were hospitalized because of the seriousness of their injury. Among the identified wounded there Revier François 45 years, Yolanda Fersul, Pierre Sadad, Anita Dorcevil 24 yearset Odulson Israël 65 years.
