Haiti - Economy : Haiti-Dominican Republic, Joint Mission to Europe,

Within the framework of action plan of Binational program between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, a delegation of Haitian and Dominican companies, with backing from the Caribbean Export Development Agency (CEDA), of the Chamber of Commerce of Haiti and the Center for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic, recently visited France and Belgium, to learn about new trends in technology and innovation in the field of agro-industrial applied by companies in these two countries, as well as other value-added experiences that can be reproduced on the island to promote industrial capacity of food production sector of both nations.

During their visit the delegation also had the opportunity to contact institutions offering technical assistance to overcome technical barriers between the countries of the African Association, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) and the European Union.

Among the companies in the delegation note for Haiti the presence of representatives of Geo Weiner S.A., the Federation of Cocoa North (Feccano) and Essence NIDO. On the Dominican side of the representatives of Procesadora Vizcaya, Procesadora San Martín de Porres, Yacao y Biocafcao. All of these companies operate in the areas of processing of fruits, coffee, cocoa, honey and essential oils.
