In a note, the Directorate General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH) apologizes to its customers and the general public for the drastic rationing found in recent days in the metropolitan area.

"These cuts are due to a fuel shortage caused by a delay in delivery to the site of Varreux, bringing back at only 65 MW the power available of the EDH what consequently reduces the power hours from 14 to 12 hours on average per day.

EDH understands that this unexpected reduction represents a major drawback for its customers and reassures him that all measures are taken to restore service shortly."
