Haiti - Humanitarian : Strong presence of French Cooperation in Grand Anse

France is particularly present in southern Haiti, thanks to the many French territorial communities that maintain cooperative relationships with cities or towns in the Grand Anse.

Brittany (western France) is particularly well represented, through the town of Saint Brieuc, the General Council of Côtes d'Armor and the Regional Council of Brittany. Their actions are focused on supporting agriculture and urban services (water, sanitation and management of natural hazards).

The city of Nantes (Western France) has a strong cooperation with Jérémie, mainly on health issues and support for the hospital of Jérémie.

The urban agglomeration community of Marne and Chantereine (France Island Region) cooperates with the Communes of Camp-Perrin and Maniche.

For the sake of coordination, all these French communities came together and signed a charter of collaboration with the Association of Mayors of Grand Anse (AMAGA).

Note also that the French territorial communities, through United Cities of France, also participated in the construction of a high school of general education in Jérémie, thanks to the financial contribution of the Fondation de France.
