Haiti - Social : More than 200 Haitian migrants recently arrived found work in Brazil

According to Father Paolo Parise, of the "Missão Paz" located in the downtown São Paulo (Brazil), an institution managed by the Catholic Church of Our Lady of Peace, which houses foreign newcomers, more than 200 Haitian migrants who arrived in the city of São Paulo in early April, found work in the fields of construction, cleaning, repair services and in restaurants of the South region of Brazil and Rio de Janeiro.

He also indicated that the Brazilian Government would put an end in the coming days, to the activities of intermediaries who charge immigrants at the border illegally, indicating that the Brazilian government was still considering also the possibility of setting up special policy for Haitians, which include Portuguese lessons.

Father Paolo Parise reminded Haitians, that they must have all their documents in order with the Brazilian labor law, so that they can fill the positions offered. Recall that Brazil gives Haitian humanitarian visa, which allows them to work and study in the country and enjoy the same public services as Brazilian citizens.
