Réginald Delva, the Minister of Interior and Territorial Communities, inform applicants of services in particular and the public in general, that as part of the extension and modernization of passport personalization systems, the

administration of the system of passport production of the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration (DIE), has successfully completed the changes and updates to its computer equipment, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10987-haiti-social-temporary-interruption-of-the-production-of-haitian-passports.html in order to comply with the requirements of the Résultats de recherche International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) competent body of control and validation of passports in the world, whose Haiti is a member.

However, during the running (rodage) of the new system, the DIE informs that it has adopted specific provisions in order to give priority to previously filed applications prior to the changes in the system and to emergency cases duly justified and documented (education, health, etc...). Also, it is asked applicants to refer to their travel agencies or to the section "Grievances" of the various offices of the DIE on the entire territory, for additional information on the monitoring of pending requests.

The Interior Ministry calls to the understanding of the population relatively to the disruptions caused by these technological changes, which aim to ensure regular production of travel documents in Haiti, as well as their updating in relation to international requirements. Note also that these refurbishments will increase the production capacity of passports by 25% annually, to meet the growing demand.
