Haiti - Health : Survey on the consumption of illicit products in schools

On Monday, the former Minister of Interior, Major David Bazile, General Coordinator of the National Commission for the Fight against Drugs (CONALD) [whose Prime Minister Lamothe holds the Presidency], announced the opening of a national survey in school, on the prevalence and drug abuse in these institutions (cigarettes, alcohol, drugs and other...)

This survey that will begin after the Paschal feasts, is funded to the tune of 51,000 U.S. dollars by the Organization of American States (OAS), the CICAT and different state bodies. 50 investigators will be trained and deployed across the country as part of this survey, which will take place over a period of 4 months. Students involved in this survey, whose their anonymity will be guaranteed, will be selected on a random sampling basis.

According to David Bazile, the results of the survey, scheduled for September, will be released and the Government will use the results to better direct its actions in the fight against this scourge in Haiti.
