Haiti - Diaspora : The MHAVE wants to revalue the Diaspora

Friday, François Guillaume II, the new Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10866-haiti-politic-it-is-time-that-the-mhave-properly-fulfill-its-mission-dixit-francois-guillaume-ii.html held an exchange meeting with ministry staff.

Minister Guillaume II, initially reassured all employees on the relationship of mutual respect and closeness that must exist in MHAVE, saying "Given the goals I have set myself, we are collaborators. You now have in me someone who wants at all costs, revalue the Ministry. There are many challenges, but together we will overcome them."

He then insisted on the revaluation of the diaspora, noting that the first ambassador of Haiti is its diaspora, saying "Our compatriots abroad are ready to work with the MHAVE for a better image of Haiti abroad."

To achieve the expected results, the Minister develops a plan of action that includes all actions to be taken. This action plan will have, among other objectives of :

  • Proceed to the general census of the diaspora ;

  • Create a network of access center to the diaspora ;

  • Establish a mechanism allowing the diaspora to invest more easily in Haiti ;

  • Launch a campaign to increase the recovery of the image of Haiti abroad.

The Minister of MHAVE intends, by this approach, keep the diaspora informed of all activities of the ministry. A representative of the Ministry will organize forums and meetings in every major foreign city, with a strong Haitian community. An agreement will be signed soon with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for this purpose.

Furthermore, recall that the Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Miami had given to the "Moca Cafe & Lounge," a reception in honor of François Guillaume II, outgoing Consul General. In this farewell reception, employees of the Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Miami and several personalities from the Haitian community of Miami among others: Jean Monestime, Commissioner of Miami-Dade; Ms. Sandy Dorsainvil, Director of Little Haiti Cultural Center; Mrs. Laura Quinlan of Rhythm Foundation; Ms. Gepsie Metellus, Director of Sant La and Dr. Rudy Moise, took the opportunity to pay tribute to Mr. Guillaume II, for his contribution to the advancement of the community.
