Haiti - Social : Flooding of the River Provence in Bas-Tapion

In the night from Friday to Saturday, at about one o'clock in the morning, Provence River came into flood causing major flooding and extensive damage to Bas-Tapion, zone Capestre of Petit-Goâve.

A preliminary assessment reported 23 affected families (and the loss of all their personal goods), 44 head of cattle washed away, devastated gardens and many material damage.

The affected residents of Capdestre, need food, water, tents, clothes, have appealed for help with the Haitian Red Cross and local and national authorities, they also asked local authorities to undertake immediately drainage work upstream of Provence river. The deputy mayor of the city Othelite Lindor and citizen Luc François, have already visited the affected.

The affected of Bas Tapion threatening to block the national road #2, if nothing is done by Tuesday.
