Haiti - NOTICE : MPCE denies rumors about the privatization of public beach of Carriès

Following rumors suggesting that the public beach (Plage Préval) located in Carriès, would be privatized, causing Monday strong reactions of anger among residents, who blocked trafficon the National #1, residents, for several hours, between Saint Médard and Carriès, throwing stones at motorists and required the intervention of security forces to disperse demonstrators and restore traffic, the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation in a statement brought ​​a formal denial to this rumor.

The Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation, together with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) intends to conduct remediation and rehabilitation of the public beach, which is in a deplorable state.
