Haiti - Education : Japan donated nearly 400,000 U.S. dollars

Within the framework of program "Aid in the form of donations to Micro-Local Projects contributing to Human Security" (APL) of the Japanese Government, the Ambassador of Japan accredited to Haiti, Katsuyoshi Tamura, recently signed with three Haitian organizations, 3 contracts for a total amount of 363.184 U.S. dollars.

COCIDEBN ($121,489) :

This donation which aims to strengthen actions of Collective of citizens for the development of Bois-Neuf (COCIDEBN) will allow the construction of six classrooms, a toilet block and construction of 40 benches and 12 boards in favor of the Community mixed school Bon-Berger.

FONTED ($121,695) :

This donation to the Foundation Thélus for Education and Development (FONTED) of Gonaives, will allow among other things, the construction of six classrooms, a toilet block and purchase 35 benches, 6 boards, and 6 offices in favor of the Community school of Bongnol.

Priestly school Mgr Jean-Baptiste Decoste of Thomonde ($120,000) :

This donation will allow the construction of 6 classrooms, a meeting room, a Economat and a direction, not to mention the construction of a toilet block with a point of washing hands.

Ambassador Katsuyoshi Tamura, recalled that his country has repeatedly had the opportunity to fund several organizations in Haiti, for the implementation of local projects and expressed confidence that these new projects will enable more children to have access to basic education pillar of the reconstruction of Haiti.
