Haiti - Diplomacy : The Haitian Government concerned about the situation in Venezuela

In a note dated of Tuesday, the Chancellor expressed the deep concern of the Government of Haiti in relation to the iolent and destabilizing movements that occurred in Venezuela during the past week, especially 11 February 2014, which resulted in deaths and wounded, attacks against public institutions, fires and destruction of vehicles...

"The Government of the Republic of Haiti remains deeply committed to the respect of democratic principles and standards such as the political and institutional stability, social peace and above all the respect for the choice of citizens and mandates of elected officials.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs encourages political forces and organizations of the Venezuelan civil society to prioritize the path of dialogue and consultation, to facilitate the consolidation of democratic achievements and to contribute useful to the development of their country.

The Haitian Government renews its support to the government of President Nicolas Maduro who is totally dedicated to the welfare of the Venezuelan people and to the strengthening of the solidarity and cooperation among the nations of Latin America and the Caribbean, according to the wishes and vision of the late Commander Hugo Chavez."
