Haiti - Economy : The mining stakeholders in Haiti, present at PDAC 2014

On Thursday, a Canadian delegation, composed of Gilles Rivard, Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of Canada to the United Nations in New York, Tristan E. Landy, political and economic advisor to the Canadian Embassy and the Chargé d'affaires, Vincent le Pape, paid a visit to Wilson Laleau, Minister of Economy and Finance.

The delegation took advantage of this courtesy visit for nviting the Minister Laleau to attend the annual conference of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC).

Key stakeholders in the mining sector in Haiti, including representatives of the private sector and of government will be present at PDAC 2014. This Congress, organized in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Haitian-Canadian (CCIHC), will take place in Toronto from March 2 to 5, 2014.

Recall that since its inception in 1932, the annual PDAC convention is the world's largest gathering of professionals, businesses and organizations associated in one way or another in mineral exploration.

PDAC, with its 1,000 exhibitors and 30,000 participants from 125 countries, offers the opportunity to participate in technical workshops, short training sessions and social events and networking to establish contacts and to propose or to discover business opportunities.

This Canadian visit was also an opportunity to discuss a range of bilateral cooperation projects Canada-Haiti.
