Haiti - Politic : Inter-Haitian Dialogue, turnabout of Fanmi Lavalas...
Monday at the hotel El Rancho, was held the first day of inte-Haitian dialogue mediated by the Episcopal Conference of Haiti (CEH) on the theme "Democratic Governance". 48 political parties, representatives of the executive, of the legislature and civil society attended the first meeting.
The surprise came from the turnabout of Fanmi Lavalas, which contrary to its statements last Friday which stated that the conditions were not yet in place for the holding of this dialogue. This is Maryse Narcisse, the Coordinator of Fanmi Lavalas, accompanied by Pasha Vorbe and Antony Dessources, who officially represented Monday the party of former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide. However, this presence remains cautious for the moment "Fanmi Lavalas is simply there to listen [...] After will come our proposals, such as the formation of a credible Electoral Council. We do not rule out the possibility of leaving the table in case the people's demands are not taken into account. [...]"
After the first day the Cardinal Chibly Langlois, said that the proposals for a good gouvernenance had not missed. Stakeholders providing in turn their vision of a new government : of transition, of national rescue, of consensus or of opening... proposals far from being shared by all since these models are not from government elections... iscussions will continue the theme having not be exhausted due to time constraints.
As members of the "Patriotic Movement of the Democratic Opposition" (MOPOD), which brings together the main opposition parties they maintained a hard line refusing dialogue by maintaining their policy of the empty chair, with the exception of "Konvansyon inite Demokratik "(KID), which was represented Monday by Paul Evans, the KID having decided to dissent with a platform of opposition.
