Haiti - Politic : Lamothe in Davos met investors

Friday, as part of its participation in the 44th World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland), the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe hosted a high-level investment panel on business opportunities in Haiti. An opportunity for the Head of Government to be stressed that the country was firmly committed in its reconstruction phase and of job creation and recalled, figures to support the achievements of his government in the fields of macro-economic, agricultural, energy, tourism, public safety and infrastructure (roads, airports, public buildings).

He took the opportunity to invite the CEOs of the companies that attended the presentation to come and invest in Haiti and welcomed at the same time, the entry into the Haitian market, of the giants of business world such as Digicel, Heineken, Viettel the Mariott and the Best western, which are among the largest foreign investors in the Haitian economy. These entrepreneurs, who participated in the discussions on the investment potential of Haiti, shared with the audience their experiences and success in Haiti. They illustrated with concrete examples the advantages they enjoyed in Haiti and have proved to be true promoters of our country.

The Head of Government, continuing its proactive policy has stepped up meetings with other world leaders like George Logothetis, libra group CEO, Chris Johnson Vice President of Nestlé SA, Gordon Brown, former British Prime Minister and UN representative in education, Luis Alberto Moreno, President of the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB), the multi billionaire philanthropist George Soros, Blake Mycoskie, founder of Tom shoes and Muhammad Yunus, Nobel peace 2006.

These discussions have resulted, to many proposals, which have been favorably welcomed by stakeholders, who promised to send a delegation to Haiti in order to explore business opportunities.
