Yves Jean-Bart, the president of the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) in the presence of Gary Nicolas (Vice-president), Carlo Marcelin (Secretary General), Monique André, Pierre André Myrville, Gabriel Rigaud Junior, Varieno Saint-Fleur (members) and Wilner Étienne (National technical director), announced at the ranch of Croix-des-Bouquets, that the National Championship for the new season starting February 15th, will be played with 16 teams (Valencia, RCH, Aigle noir, ASPG, ASM, Baltimore, Tempête, Fica, Don Bosco, Victory, Cavaly, América of Les Cayes, Racine of Gros Morne, ASC, Violette AC and the Racing of Gonaïves. These last two have evolved in the past season in D2 and they were recovered. A decision that angered many leaders.

"This is a purely sporting choice," declared the President of the FHF "Both teams have tradition, reputation, a glorious past, and the other teams did not. This process concerns, the super elite, not only the result in the field, we can not take everyone at the same time [...] Members who have not accepted this proposal, made us no proposal. They only complain about having to spend a lot of money [...] It is essential that our football is professional."
