Haiti - Security : Upgrading for BRI Elite Police Officer

Within the framework of bilateral agreements between France and the National Police of Haiti (PNH), 43 lite Police Officer of the Brigade of Research and Intervention (BRI) followed last week a 5-days certified training in long weapons (Shotgun and assault rifles). Classes were taught by 4 trainers UN police (UNPOL) originating from France, the United States of America, Burkina Faso and Benin.

During this training, the 3rd that follows this elite brigade, the agents of the BRI use their service weapons and shotguns, but they also become familiar with new assault rifles made ​​in Belgium. Note that in the framework of bilateral agreements, the French government provided arms, ammunition and other equipment to the BRI, a component of the Development Plan of 2012-2016 of the PNH.

Through this training, the team leader and policing of the UN, Delaby Emmanuel, intends "achieve a high professionalism of the BRI,"whose mission is to intervene in case of kidnappings.

Furthermore, in order to increase the professional skills of police, three instructors of the Police Training School (ENP) and three trainers of the DCPJ have also been trained.
