Tuesday morning, Emmanuel Ménard, President of the Transitional College of the Provisional Electoral Council (CTCEP) roceeded to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Jean Renel Sanon, Minister of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), on the mechanisms for transferring data from the National Identification Office (ONI) to CTCEP for updating the electoral lists.

Text of the Memorandum of Understanding :

"Given the Constitution of 1987 as amended ;

Given the provisions of the Electoral Act on the Electoral Registry, the data transfer by the Office Nation Identification and updating of voter lists ;

Considering that it is necessary for the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, on the one hand ; the Transitional Council of the College of the Permanent Electoral Council on the other hand ; to make every effort in order to respect the constitutional and legal prescripts and ensure the holding of democratic elections by the introduction of tools for this purpose ;

Considering that it is appropriate for these two institutions to sign a memorandum of understanding to establish the mechanisms of transmission of said data ;

it was agreed :

Article 1.- That technical services employees for this purpose, from the National Identification Office and of Permanent Electoral Council, take all measures for the implementation of the Protocol ;

In witness whereof the undersigned representatives of the Permanent Electoral Council and of the National Identification Office agreed this MOU.
