Haiti - Elections : Me Mosler Georges becomes Executive Director of CTCEP

6 days after dismissing Gabrielle Yacinthe, former Director General of the Transitional College of the Permanent Electoral Council (CTCEP) [appointed to that position June 18, 2013] https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10258-haiti-news-some-news-here-and-there.html , Me Emmanuel Ménard, President of CTCEP proceeded Monday at the installation of Me Mosler Georges, [former Deputy Director of Ms. Yacinthe] as Executive Director of the Electoral Council, pursuant to Article 3.2 of the new electoral law, published December 10, 2013 in the the official newspaper "Le Moniteur", which removes the position of Director General "Article 3.2: The Permanent Electoral Council is composed of an Executive Board which ensures the Executive Secretariat of the Council, the implementation of its decisions, and coordinates the activities of other Directorates."

Emmanuel Ménard asked the new Executive Director to fulfill its task, in accordance with the electoral law and regulations of the institution, while relying on the collaboration of all electoral advisers.

Me Mosler Georges [in fucntion to the Electoral Council since 2005], has promised to put his experience to the service of the Board, noting that electoral information will be one of its priorities and also promised to organize credible, fair and transparent elections.

On Monday, the President of CTCEP made ​​a solemn commitment to hold elections in 2014, saying that the electoral calendar and the necessary budget to the organization of election were not yet available, due to necessary adjustments to take account of the new electoral law.
