Haiti - Reconstruction : Laurent Lamothe meets U.S. Ambassador Pamela White

Prime Minister, also Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, Laurent Lamothe Salvador, recently met the U.S. Ambassador accredited to Haiti, Pamela White.

At the meeting held in the premises of the Ministry of Planning, in the presence of Pierre-Richard Casimir, Minister of Foreign Affairs and other government officials, the Minister Lamothe held talks onthe progress of several major projects funded by the Government through the Treasury.

There has been talk of the construction of the 4-lanes viaduct of Delmas, which measures 7.20 m high and 550 m long, a major work that will serve thousands of Haitian citizens by the end of April 2015. Laurent Lamothe also mentioned the construction of 7 public buildings that were destroyed during the earthquake of January 2010, stating that the Ministry of Interior and Territorial Communities [7 floors] is at a level of progress of 40% and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to 35%.

The Minister of Planning reported to Ambassador White, that this work will have a positive impact on all segments of the population "We work tirelessly to enable Haiti to continue his march towards development [...] we rely much on the reconstruction of public buildings to improve the image of the country." Mrs. White was pleased with the efforts of the government team.
