Haiti - Tourism : Exploratory visit of the Tourism Committee of Guadeloupe

Saturday, Ms. Dieudonne Luma Etienne, Regional Director North and Ms. Stéphanie Alexander of the Tourism Ministry, welcomed to the Cap-Haitien International Airport, a delegation headed by Mr. Hilaire Brudey, the President of the Committee of Tourist of Islands of Guadeloupe (CTIG) and conducted by Georges Siméon, the responsible of event project of the Tourism Ministry, who was accompanied Willy Rose, Director General of the Tourism Committee of the Islands of Guadeloupe (CTIG) and of Michel Morice, Chief of Staff to the Regional Council of Guadeloupe.

This delegation was come to explore the Tourist potential of Haiti, better know the regions and their tourist facilities, to study the possibility of developing multi-destination packages between Haiti and Guadeloupe Islands.

Following the invitation of the Ministry of Tourism and after 3 days of prospecting in Haiti, the Minister of Tourism, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin and his team met Tuesday morning at Villa Thérèse, Mr. Hilaire Brudey and his collaborators to discuss the feasibility of providing multi-destination packages between Guadeloupe and Haiti to the French market first and then Europe.

During their visit the delegation visited Port-au-Prince, Cap-Haitien, the National Historical Park, Citadelle Henry, the Palais Souci and Jacmel (until Marigot). After these three days in Haiti, Mr. Brudey declared "It was one of the shorter missions, but the best." About their visit to the Citadelle and the developments that are underway, the delegation was unanimous by declaring "you've got a real gem."
